Zerocaster Introduces the ZC09 Hubless Caster
Zerocaster Brings Innovative Hubless Caster to High End Furniture Market
Lone Tree, Colorado, USA, 05 June 2009 - Zerocaster is pleased to announce the release of the ZC09, a twin-wheel hubless caster, for sale to OEM furniture manufacturers. The ZC09 will be first shown to the public at the NEOCON 2009 World Trade Show in Chicago. The company has received two USA utility patents and has numerous international patents pending.
The ZC09 is designed for chairs, screens, case goods, and the like. It has a 2.75" wheel diameter and makes use of a 7/16" stem to fit into standard chair bases. No modifications will be required to existing bases to accept the ZC09. Striking in its ethereal simplicity, the hubless design gives the overall product a floating, transparent effect. The ZC09 represents a true break from the history of casters in providing a design element that complements and completes the overall end item. The ZC09 is constructed of a plastic frame, steel bearings and raceways, plastic wheels, and aluminum inner circles. The inner circles will be offered in a variety of colors and finishes to add further customization.
"We've been listening to designers over the years and it is clear the design community is looking for more options in their caster choices. Currently, casters are selected from a standard catalog after the design process is complete. We see the ZC09, with color and finish options, to be the first caster designed into the overall aesthetic of the chair or office product," stated Gerard Donakowski, Zerocaster marketing manager. "This caster gives an OEM chair manufacturer the option of an exciting design identity where a standard caster used to be."
The ZC09 will be manufactured by Oconomowoc Manufacturing of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. The Zerocaster ZC09 will be available for inspection at Neocon Booth #7-3118 and available on an exclusive basis to OEMs starting the Fall of 2009.
